SPECIAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES -2023 -24

       On 27^th February 2024, ESIC Dental College and Hospital, Department of Public Health Dentistry organized a dental camp at Shram Shakti Bhawan, Sansad Marg New Delhi. Camp was inaugurated by Shri Rameshwar Teli, Minister of State for the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas along with Ms. Arti Ahuja, Secretary Ministry of Labour and Employment

          Over 330 people were screened for dental disease, and 75 patients received treatment in a mobile dental van. Treatment provided in the mobile dental van includes Restoration, Oral prophylaxis, Extraction, etc. More than 200 dental care kits were distributed. Educational pamphlets were also distributed to educate the patients regarding oral hygiene and oral care needs.

 

 

 

Department of Periodontics of ESIC Dental College and Hospital, Rohini in association with Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) conducted a screening awareness drive titled "Say No to Bleeding Gums"- a Pink health initiative aimed to raise awareness about periodontal health.

In this drive over 700 patients were comprehensively screened in the Department of Periodontics for various gingival & periodontal diseases.Oral Hygiene Week – Patient awareness drive in association with Indian Society of Periodontology- ‘Gum Care for All’

Various events were organized under this drive in which students/interns/JRs participated enthusiastically. On the occasion of National Periodontist Day, 23^rd February’24, an engaging & educative “Nukkad Natak” was presented by students, interns and junior residents posted in the department. The performance aimed to raise awareness among patients regarding the importance of gingival health with special emphasis on bleeding gums.

               

     

 

 

 

 

Following the play, an interactive Q&A session was conducted by faculty members to address patient queries. Patient educational leaflets, samples of oral hygiene aids-toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed to further encourage patients to maintain oral hygiene.

The Department of Periodontics is committed in continuing the efforts to promote comprehensive oral care and the well-being of all the IPs.

 

A complete denture camp for geriatric persons was conducted by the Department of Prosthodontics, ESIC Dental College & Hospital, Rohini, Delhi as a part of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University’s (GGSIPU) ongoing ‘Mobile Dental Health Camps’ under the “Reaching the Unreached” mission of the Dilli Gramoday Abhiyan. The camp was organized in November 2024 for the residents of Jharoda Kalan, Najafgarh in which complete dentures were fabricated for ten elderly persons in record three days. On the last day of camp, complete dentures were distributed to the beneficiaries by the Hon’ble Vice-chancellor, GGSIPU, Prof. (Dr) Mahesh Verma who presided over the event and interacted with the residents of Jharoda Kalan to understand their needs. The event was also graced by the presence of Dean, ESIC Dental College and Hospital, Delhi, Prof. (Dr) Nagaraj M. who acknowledged the financial assistance offered for the camp by Hon’ble VC, GGSIPU and appreciated the efforts and hard work of doctors and supporting staff. This collaborative community initiative facilitated improved access to healthcare for geriatric persons.
